Butterfly Stories

A butterfly lights besides us like a sunbeam. And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belongs to the world.
But then it flies on again, and although we wish it could have stayed, we feel blessed to have seen it.

After Christian's memorial our immediate family came to our home for a beautiful butterfly release in his honor. We all released several painted ladies into the Spring air. There have been so many times since then that we see a butterfly, often a painted lady, around us - and we think of Christian. We hope you do too and share those stories with us...

"Yesterday I took Andrew and Caleb to our bike path. Andrew rode his bike and I jogged while pushing Caleb. At the beginning of our trek we saw a butterfly. Amazingly, the butterfly stayed with us throughout the entire trip. Andrew was amazed. Thought I would share!"

"I mailed you a little package today....and immediately went to the pool. I had been sitting on the chair for only a minute or two when a painted lady butterfly landed right beside my foot. Then it fluttered up by my head and continued to flutter by my chair for the next minute or so. I was so happy....and so excited! I couldn't help but think that it was a little "thanks for thinking of my mommy" from Christian. I couldn't wait to get to a computer to share my experience with you!"
